emSigner is a versatile web-based tool designed for digital tracking, signing, archiving, transferring, and managing smart documents using digital signatures. This software ensures a secure, faster, and smarter online document signing process.

In addition, it strengthens the security of documents as the signed data is encrypted using AES encryption. The primary functionality of emSigner in GST revolves around digitally signing GST registration application and GST returns like GSTR-1, GSTRE-3B And GSTR-9 etc., on the official GST portal (www.gst.gov.in).

Please note that before installing and using emSigner for GST, you must complete your DSC registration on the GST portal.

How to Download and Install emSigner for GST?

Follow this step-by-step procedure to download and install emSigner for GST:

Step 1: Visit the official portal of GST and log in using your credentials.

Step 2: Click on your username located in the top-right corner and a small drop-down menu will appear. (refer the image below)

Step 3: Click on “Register/Update DSC”.

Step 4: You will be redirected to the ‘Register Digital Signature Certificate’ page where you have to select the option ‘Click here for instructions on installing signer utility’. (refer the image below)

Step 5: You will find download options for Windows, Linux, and Mac. Choose the suitable option and click on “Click here to download”. (use the image below as reference)

Step 6: Locate the ‘emSigner.msi’ file in the Download folder.

Step 7: Double click on the file to launch the emSigner setup window.

Step 8: Follow the instructions appearing on the screen to install the software.

Step 9: If you want to install the application in the default folder, click on “Next”. If you want to change the folder, click on “Browse”, choose the folder, and then click on “Next”.

Step 10: Click on the "Install" button to begin the installation.

Step 11: Once installation is finished, click on the “Finish” button.

Step 12: Find the emSigner software in your system and right-click on it to choose the "Run as Administrator" option.

Step 13: A dialogue box will appear saying “emSigner service started successfully”. Click on “OK”.

Step 14: Finally, you will be redirected to the Digital Signature Signer window, where you can use the emSigner application to digitally sign any papers or returns relating to GST.
