In such circumstances, we would require a proof of title/succession certificate issued by a competent court. The claim would then be paid to the person specified in the said proof. Such a condition is called 'Open Title' situation.

If we have accepted the claim but are waiting for the issued certificate of proof, we will hold the money till the proof is submitted.

What is the time frame within which the claim has to be reported?

A claim must be reported as soon as possible to enable the company to process it.
