Sachin Bajaj

Executive Vice President & Head of Investments, Max Life Insurance

Sachin is responsible for leading all aspects of Max Life’s Investments function. His role involves formulating and executing investment strategies for the Company. He leads a team of highly qualified investment professionals and plays a crucial role in the Company's growth and success. As Head - Investments, he continues to play an instrumental role at Max Life in delivering healthy and consistent performance for both traditional and ULIP funds.

A seasoned investment professional with over 25 years of experience, Sachin has had successful stints in the field of banking, insurance, investment advisory, and business planning with leading companies. He joined Max Life in 2001 and has since played a key role in successfully managing the growth of assets and formulating new fund strategies and product solutions.

Rahul Talwar

EVP & Chief Marketing Officer

Rahul Talwar leads the marketing (brand, channel, customer), corporate communications, consumer insights and customer obsession agenda of the Company. A seasoned marketing professional with over 17 years of experience, Rahul has had successful stints in the FMCG sector with leading companies - PepsiCo India, Pladis India (McVitie’s Biscuits) and the Aditya Birla Group. At Pepsico India, Rahul steered the brand agenda for leading trademarks (Lay’s Chips, 7up, Mirinda). Rahul joined Max Life in 2018 and played a key role in accelerating the brand quotient and steering marketing partnerships with distribution to strengthen the company’s industry leadership amongst the private insurance players.

Anurag Chauhan

General Counsel and Company Secretary

Anurag leads the Legal, Compliance, Regulatory Affairs and Secretarial functions for Max Life. Spearheading the legal agenda for the enterprise, he is a proven practitioner known for his change advocacy, business acumen, and domain expertise.

Anurag currently oversees the governance at Max Life and all issues involving the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI). He is also the flag bearer of Max Life's ESG commitments.

He has proven to be a valuable asset for many stakeholders in his capacity as the Company Secretary and Legal head. Anurag joined Max Life in 2013, and since then, he has led the legal team to numerous victories for the business, including the Best Legal Department in Insurance in Asia Award (2022), being named one of the Top 100 General Counsel in India by Business World Legal (2021), Best Corporate Governance Award by ASSOCHAM and Golden Peacock (2017), and Best Legal Department in India (Insurance) Award (2015 & 2016) .

Anurag has over 23 years of experience and has previously held positions with some of the well-known companies including Deutsche Bank, Bharti Airtel, and Escorts Finance.

Anurag is a law graduate and holds a Master of Business Laws degree from National Law School, Bangalore.  He is a fellow member of Institute of Company Secretaries of India

Shailesh Singh

Senior Director & Chief People Officer

With over 25 years of experience in delivering world-class people agenda and culture, Shailesh Singh is Director & Chief People Officer at Max Life Insurance. He is responsible for developing and implementing successful Human Resources strategies that support long-term growth and transformation of the organisation. As part of  the transformation agenda, Shailesh has led Max Life's journey in becoming a ‘Great Place to Work’ while benchmarking organisations culture and people practices to the very best. Shailesh is committed to enhancing culture, creating value for teams and organisations, raising engagement levels and developing talent & leadership.

Shailesh introduced the Organisation & Talent Review process across the organisation to systematically and proactively build organisational talent pool and succession plans. Under his leadership, the focus on supervisory capability and accountability of people’s agenda has been further strengthened. Shailesh is a firm believer in making Max Life Values come alive through leadership role modelling and embodiment of Values via Business and HR processes. Shailesh is also responsible for the company’s societal connect and leads Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.

Prior to joining Max Life Insurance, Shailesh worked in multiple HR leadership roles in GE Energy, GE Supply-chain, GE Capital, SRF Finance, Eicher Tractors and National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). Shailesh served as Regional HR Head for GE Energy for Africa, India and the Middle East, and was based in Dubai for 5 years.

Shailesh is a Graduate of Delhi University and a post-graduate from IRMA, Gujarat.

Jose John

Senior Director & Appointed Actuary

Jose John heads the Actuarial function at Max Life Insurance as Director & Appointed Actuary, alongside strengthening the company’s internal governance and risk management capabilities.

Over the course of his decade-long association with Max Life Insurance, he has made significant contributions to advancing Max Life’s capabilities in core actuarial areas as well as areas related to risk management in general. He has led the actuarial assessments on a variety of critical projects ranging from Financial Reporting to M&A, resulting in superior management information and stakeholder value creation.

Prior to joining Max Life Insurance, Jose had spent most of his career in the UK where he worked with Prudential and MetLife. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India and Faculty of Actuaries, UK. In addition, Jose holds an MBA degree from the Cardiff Business School, UK.

Manu Lavanya

Director & Chief Operations Officer 

Manu Lavanya is the Chief Operating Officer of Max Life Insurance. Manu has more than two decades of valuable experience in successfully creating, transforming and scaling IT businesses across multiple industry domains and geographies including the US, Latin America, Eastern Europe, the UK and India. Manu leads the 'Fulfilment group', which comprises Operations, Information Technology, Underwriting & Claims, Digital Transformation and Quality, Innovation & Service Excellence. As COO, Manu plays an instrumental role in enhancing the Operations value chain, leading our Digital Transformation agenda and strengthening the Quality culture thereby helping us craft superior customer experiences.

Before Max Life, Manu was the Global COO at Incedo. Prior to Incedo, he created and scaled Brillio, a global digital services startup. He has previously held multiple leadership roles with Cognizant and ITC.

Manu is an ISB graduate and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Technology from IIT Kanpur.

Sachin Saxena

Director & Chief Risk Officer

A versatile leader having professional experience of around 19 years in Enterprise Risk Management, Product Development & Pricing, Reinsurance, Business Planning, Shareholder & Regulatory Reporting, Channel Marketing and Software Development.

Sachin is responsible for overall guidance and supervision of the risk management function of Max Life and implementing Enterprise Risk Management across the organisation. He has been instrumental in the risk function’s transformation from managing compliance and regulatory reporting to much more strategic. The risk function now, in addition to monitoring & reporting risks, plays the role of a key valued business partner that helps in managing and optimising risks and that of a trusted advisor to the CEO and the Board as strategy without risk management is seldom effective.

He aspires to build a resilient organisation by enhancing risk culture awareness, deploying early warning, and crisis management frameworks for key risk areas.

Sachin has been associated with Max Life Insurance for over 14 years and is a recipient of the CEO’s Award and the Chairman’s Award for building market-leading innovative products and building hedging capability through derivatives implementation, which was an industry first at that time. Under his leadership, the risk management team has won a number of awards and he was also among the 3 finalists for the ‘Corporate Risk Manager of the Year 2020’ award given by Asia Insurance Review.

In his previous stints, he has worked with leading global firms like ICICI Prudential, Accenture, and Cognizant Technology Solutions.

He is a Qualified Actuary from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK, and the Institute of Actuaries of India. He also holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Varanasi.

Amrit Singh

Director & Chief Financial Officer

Amrit Singh is responsible for the planning, implementation and managing of all the finance activities of the Company, including business planning, budgeting and strategising the financial affairs of the Company and also for leading the Company’s business strategy function to strengthen business performance.

Amrit has nearly two decades of experience. He joined Max Life in 2013 and has since led a diverse portfolio of teams including strategy, advanced analytics, investor relations and group business. He has worked on various mandates around growth and profitability. Before Max Life, Amrit worked with Infosys, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Religare Enterprises.

Amrit holds a degree in Computers from Pune University and is a Postgraduate in Management from the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad.

Sumit Madan

Senior Director & Chief Distribution Officer

With a career spanning over two decades of diverse experience in Sales, Retail Liabilities, and Branch Banking, Sumit leads Max Life’s business growth and expansion initiatives across distribution networks, including bancassurance, agency, and proprietary channels. Prior to this, Sumit led Products, Digital, and Retail Liabilities at IDFC First Bank, where he played a crucial role in achieving performance growth across key banking metrics.

Previously, Sumit served as President & Chief (Branch Banking) at AU Small Finance Bank, where he played a pivotal role in leading a team of 4000+ professionals in sales, service, operations, and data analytics. He commenced his professional journey in FMCG, later moving to Citibank, where he ascended to the role of Regional Head for North India during his 13-year tenure.
